One in five adults worldwide would rather spend Valentine’s Day with their pet than their significant other, according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll of more than 24,000 adults from 23 countries were surveyed.
While France ranked last in the poll with 90 percent saying they would rather spend the holiday with a partner than pet — no surprise considering its capital, Paris, is known as the “City of Love” — the U.S. ranked fifth, with 27 percent of Americans saying they would prefer to spend the day of romance with a furry friend.
